Help us build the NetHui programmes
Dates and locations are finalised and now we need your help to build the programmes!
We’re calling on our three local communities and the wider Internet community to get thinking on what you want to see at these NetHui events. Each community will set its own programme, so we’re looking for people from the local communities and the rest of New Zealand to share your ideas with us on the hot topics that should be discussed and who can help us to facilitate them.
Our very first step to building the NetHui programme is for you to tell us what you want to talk about by filling out this short form before 8 August.
Once we have your suggestions for the programme we will hold meetings with those that suggested ideas to review them. These meetings give you a chance to give input and feedback, and will be held in-person and via video-conferencing so that we can connect with as many people as possible.
We then go away and come up with a draft programme. We will create working groups of facilitators and those that have a shared interest in topics, and help these working groups shape NetHui sessions. The working group will work together to drum up participants, contributors and fill in the session details like a title, a description, and come up with a cool hashtag for social media.
We’re also calling on these communities to become a part of NetHui. We need volunteers to help facilitate or contribute to sessions, host a break-out event, be a mic runner or to generally help out.
If this all sounds a bit daunting, remember that we will be here to help! InternetNZ staff will be working hard behind the scenes to organise any keynotes and panels, and making sure each session and side event has everything it needs to make it shine. We’ll also hold a facilitators meet up and training session just before the NetHui session to learn from others and give you any tips you need to make your session a success.
The first draft programmes for all three events will be available to view around mid September. They will be found under the ‘location tabs’ at the top of this page.
Don’t want to facilitate a session but want to come along as a participant? We will let you know as soon as registration opens!
