Guest blog from Tasman District Council – help us transform
So Nethui’s coming to Nelson. You know, the place that grows the hops for all those craft beers, with the beaches in national parks, the orchards, the wine …
What you might not have grokked is that a fair chunk of those things take place in the Tasman District – Nelson’s rural neighbour. Stretching from Farewell Spit to south of Murchison and back to Richmond, the district covers roughly 10,000km2. It’s a big back yard, and getting the Internet can be a bit of a challenge.
Tasman District Council has bid for UFB2 funding, and is taking its first steps in digital transformation. We’d really like to share your collective experience and brainpower so that we can get the best start possible. What really works?
How can we encourage civic participation? How can we use digital transformation to improve our services? How can we do all of these good things in a low-bandwidth environment? And how can we make ‘digital’ part of our long-term planning?
You can see we have lots of questions, but mostly we are keen to listen and learn, and enjoy the conversations at Nethui.
Come say hi!
