We all use apparently free platforms like Facebook and Google. What are the costs of ceding our lifestreams to these corporations? And how could this play out?

As corporations gain more insight into who we are, they become more powerful than governments. Add AI and their potential to manipulate us is staggering. What is their motivation?

We could hardly live without these amazing services and contact with all our friends. But are we actually experiencing diversity or being herded into polarised factions?

What hope is there in alternatives such as social enterprise and civic tech? How do we respond?
